Leadership Summit 2024

Join us as we kick off the SETDA Leadership Summit. 

Whether you're a long-standing member or a newcomer to SETDA, this session will provide a sense of community and purpose as we embark on this educational journey together.

Historic federal funding has gone into digital equity, and leaders in every state are working to implement comprehensive plans to close the digital divide. But education stakeholders are often not at the table in designing and implementing these plans. This session will explain how these programs work and how you can ensure education is a priority for your state or territory’s DE efforts.

State leaders can play a key role to help districts assess and sustain their ed tech investments. This work remains critical given the end of pandemic funds and the need to invest in ed tech solutions with proven efficacy. This session highlights Connecticut’s work with Instructure to streamline ed tech selection and compliance with state and federal laws, especially with the advent of AI tools.

Committees will breakout into four (4) rooms, pick one.

The Professional Learning Committee exists to provide relevant, high-quality professional learning opportunities and to facilitate the development and advancement of job-related skills and knowledge of members. In particular, the committee will focus on opportunities designed to build stronger and more effective state leaders and to develop future SETDA leaders. The committee will review, identify, develop, and provide professional learning opportunities on an ongoing basis to meet emerging needs of the SETDA membership.

In-person meeting for the members of SETDA's Cybersecurity & Privacy Collaborative, a professional learning community of state edtech leaders and corporate members focused on developing resources, assessing state-level K-12 cybersecurity advocacy efforts, and crafting policy recommendations.

In-person meeting for members of SETDA's E-Rate Collaborative.

Comprised of State E-Rate leaders, this collab meets virtually each month to discuss the effective incorporation of E-rate into state policy and practice and provide SETDA’s staff and board input regarding federal legislation related to the E-Rate program and connectivity.
